CFD-DEM Study of Pleated Filter Plugging Process Based on Porous Media Model

The pneumatic conveying process of fine particles through filters was studied by CFD-DEM simulation method. porous media model and structure were used to simulate the airflow state blocking effect when they flowed filter. Under different particle feed rates initial velocities, effects plugging rate settling velocity in pleated analyzed, deposition height on fluid zone studied. results showed that should avoid 250–750 g/s choose 3–6 m/s achieve lower faster velocity. position filter inlet increase non-uniformity. Timely cleaning box can improve filtering performance.
